Have you ever been driving through Idaho and just get the hankering for a little New York City action? This is a very common feeling that Destinations Inn in Idaho Falls has capitalized on! Nestled in a restored building from 1905, Destinations Inn is full of uniquely themed rooms. If you're here, then you know that's our jam.
We love coming to this suite on our way back from Yellowstone National Park. Fun story, the second time we stayed here, I cried when we walked in. We had just tent camped in Yellowstone for a week during Covid. There were no showers available, there were torrential downpours almost each night, and while it was one of the best experiences we've ever had, I teared up when I touched carpet because I forgot what it was like to be indoors. We haven't been tent camping since.
Anyways, this place rocks. As soon as you walk in, New York music greets your ears, you see Miss Liberty herself, and you walk under the arches of the Brooklyn Bridge. You then traverse Central Park, equipped with an iron park bench and your very own lamp post. There are also fresh towels waiting for you on the bench, which was a site for sore eyes after seven full stinky days without a shower. As you turn to your left, you are greeted with Times Square! This is probably my favorite part of the room. They did such an amazing job including so many amazing details...including a mini King Kong on top of the Empire State Building!
The bed is also really cool. It is round and reminds me of Austin Powers a little bit...It is also on a
Broadway stage which is pretty dang unique. I love the curtains and the brick. You can also control the lights and sound system with the touch screen right next to the bed. Next to the sleeping area is the vanity and bathroom region. The mirror is surrounded by lights in true Broadway fashion. This allows you to see every single blemish you've had since birth and also acts as a night sun when you flip on the wrong switch in the middle of the night. The shower and bathtub area are adorably nestled in Central Park and the bathwater comes out of a fire hydrant! The shower is a steam shower so you can be as hot and steamy as you want!
You really have to check out Destinations Inn as it is truly a unique experience! I If you HATE NYC, they have a 13 other themed rooms. Surely, you can't hate all those places!
