Nestled between Federal Way and Puyallup, this Edgewood, WA barn is a LOOKER! Sporting the iconic little red barn look, this gal was lovingly restored by Barb and Ole, the embodiment of sweet grandparents. Originally built over 70 years ago, this barn now has so much more life left.
When you open the front door, you are greeted by beautiful wood steps to carry you up to the main living area upstairs. On the landing is a mini-library where you are invited to take a book if you'd like. See what I mean? The epitome of loving grandparents!!
As soon as you crest the stairs, you are met with an incredible view
of the trees. It truly feels like you are in the middle of a jungle! Coming from the eastern part of Washington, we don't get this much greenery, so it was truly a TREAT!
Barb is a gifted quilter and her work is proudly displayed throughout the barn. She has quilts to use while lounging around, the bedspread is a quilt, there are quilted pot holders, and even a quilted table runner! You can truly feel the love and time that
was put into this barn.
At the back of the barn, there is a small balcony with barn door shutters. It overlooks Barb and Ole's HUGE garden! I'm pretty sure
they have every type of vegetable, fruit, root, and herb out there. (Not to brag, but I too have a small "garden" in my home consisting of two clinging-to-life house plants.). I loved that you could still open the slider to get some air, but shut the sliding barn doors if it was too windy or stormy.
This place is truly a hidden gem. If you're looking for a quiet, relaxing, wholesome place to rest your feet, this is it! Now, I leave you with this insightful cross-stitch quote from the barn (it is my next cross-stitch project).
